New Membership Structure
Hello,
Please post your thoughts, ideas and suggestions on the proposed changes to the pricing and membership structure. We like to have feedback from the club users and members before this structure is finalized.
The goals of the new structure are to:
1) boost membership, provide some benefit to members,
2) provide different passes for different kinds of uses,
3) and not lose money based on projections from from previous years.
Membership FAQ
Why become a member?
Get a lower rate for the series passes, buy the discounted HY Pass and FY Pass. More importantly, you can vote, run for elections, amend the club constitution.
Why choose not to be a member?
You will be able to attend all club activities as Club User. If you simply want to check out a couple of series, or only occasionally attend club activities then this is a good option without having to pay the extra membership fee.
Why do I need to do this in advance?
The constitution requires us to maintain a balance of U of M and non UofM members and we need to check if the quotas are not exceeded. Also, non U of M applications will be considered in the ordered they are received.
What about non U of M users who wish to become members?
We have ensure that we meet the quota restrictions. Hence, every non U of M student may not be eligible to be a club member automatically. Historically, this has never been a problem since have alway had enough U of M student members.
In such a situation, applications from non U of M users will be processed in the order the application were received online (so apply early). You will be informed when you are eligible to become a member by the membership officer.
Will Series, Half Year and Full Year passes be prorated?
No passes will be prorated. You will have to wait for the next cycle to obtain the pass.
I become a member after I paid for the Series as a non-member, will I get a refund?
There will be no refunds if you were not a member at the time you paid for a series. Of course, you will be eligible for the lower rate for the next series.

Apply early and pay in advance.

No, It all makes sense. Thanks to the earlier general membership meeting I understand the numbers and what needs to be done to keep the club running. Only let me know as a non student who want to maintain permanent membership and a year pass when I need to pay- or rather, donate to the the cause of quality local Argentine social tango...

Once the structure is finalized, payments will be taken starting Jan 01. A message will be sent and updates will be posted on the website.
