ArcGIS, is a leading software package for the input, processing, integration, and presentation of geospatial data. The University of Michigan holds a site license for this software suite, offering it free to all faculty, staff and students on-campus. ArcGIS has been developed by Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI) at Redlands, California.
ArcGIS has been used at the Medical School at UM to create a Medical School Space Management Tool that supports:
- Visualization of geo-spatial business data
- Space Utilization studies
- Space Productivity analyses using direct and indirect costs
- Single or multi-dimensional spatial analyses using data attributes
