NASDAQ-100 Dynamic Heatmap.. This stock market heat map shows recent trading activity on the NASDAQ-100 stocks. In this type of heat map, there is a tradeoff between arranging stocks alphabetically so that a specific stock is easy to locate versus arranging them by value so that the overall pattern is discernible and so that the color saturation isn't necessary for accurate interpretation for the chart. |
This conceptual heat map is based on an imaginary data set, generated in Excel. It depicts an imaginary department's classroom utilization at each hour. Its advantage is that it allows units, departments, buildings and the like a quick overview on how their classroom utilization is distributed across the day and how it could potentially be optimized. |
Heatmaps for data visualization. Representing what we typically think of as a heatmap, this is a real-time tool that shows a floor plan overlaid with color to show which areas of the building people are in the most. The artifacts in the floor are abstract, light and monochrome so as not to detract from the data while giving a sense of location. The time-lapse elements of this tool are useful in analyzing movement and congestion patterns throughout the floor and thus useful in finding ways to promote efficient use of that space. |
Description

Data requirements
Use this for data that changes often, such as stock market prices.
