EDUCAUSE is one of the cross-discplinary organizations dedicated to technology/computers in higher education. The organizations primary audience is IT administrators and staff; however, there is an active teaching and learning arm (EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative, ELI).

The organization hosts an annual national conference, various regional conferences, and a variety of other workshops and events. EDUCAUSE has an active research and publication record. The research arm (http://www.educause.edu/ecar ECAR) publishes a yearly study of how and why undergraduate students are using different technologies in higher education Links to ECAR Student Usage Reports 2004-1014. ELI regularly publishes their "7 things about..." two page introductions to different technologies that might facilitate and/or impact learning.
