computers-and-composition is the name of the sub/in-discipline of rhetoric and composition scholars whose research and teaching focus on the impact and use of (digital) technologies in writing. Lately, people have started referring to this discipline by other names, including digital rhetoric(s), digital writing studies, digital media composition, and others. Digital pedagogy has been at the forefront of this discipline since its beginnings, which date back to the late 1970s and the use of mainframe computing in the process of writing and the teaching of academic writing.
