  • Source can be tough to use - here are two hints.
    • If you follow the above link, you can ignore the login option in the upper right hand corner. You are already logged in via our proxy. If you search, you will get to the Full Text without problem
    • If you follow any of the links from the main page (vs. a search result), then click on the "Subscriber's Link" button in the upper right hand corner to view the document

Database Searches

[edit] LexisNexis Academic

  • Conduct a search for CEO and INTERVIEWS
  • In the upper left hand corner, you will see the term “Result Groups” - if you change the drop down to SUBJECT, you will see an option for "Interviews"

[edit] ABI/INFORM (ProQuest)

  • With ABI/INFORM, use this term to search: AT(interview)
  • You can add terms as you need CEO and AT(interview) or Music and AT(interview)
  • Among the many sources in this database, you will find many NPR programs including Morning Edition and All Things Considered

  • If you click on the "Advanced Tab", you can choose Interview as a document type

  • In the search box, you can use the following terms:
    • ns=NITV - This is for subject type of an interview
    • ns=NTRA - This is for subject type of a transcript
  • If you are using another term, you need to seperated them with "and"
    • CEO and ns=NITV will search for CEO interviews
    • Sports and ns=NITV and ns=NTRA will search for sports interviews with transcripts
  • Transcripts in Factiva are tremendous and covers many news programs, including CNN, Fox News, CBS, NBC, etc. They also include a wide variety of other resources, ranging from NPR's Fresh Air (with Terry Gross) to the Montel Williams Show
