San Juan Island, Washington
Built: 1935
Automated: 1960's
This octagonal concrete tower sits atop a square fog signal building and is 34 teet tall. It is located at the southeastern tip of San Juan Island and overlooks the South San Juan Channel with a focal plane of 94 feet. This lighthouse was seen in the movie Free Willy in the 1990's but may not have been recognizable because of the faux lantern room that the production company installed, but then removed, after completion of their shooting. The light is still active.
