Cape Tormentine Light
From lighthouses
Cape Tormentine, New Brunswick
Built: 1940's
Decommissioned: 1997-1998
Officially known as the Cape Tormentine Outer Wharf Front Range Light, this 11 meters (33 feet) tall square tower with lantern and gallery has an unusual pepperpot shape, cylindrical at the base and strongly tapered above. It sits at the end of the former Cape Tormentine ferry wharf, both of which were made obsolete by the opening of the Confederation Bridge. It was reactivated in 1998 at the request of local fishermen.
