Esopus, New York

Built: 1872

Automated: 1965

Decommissioned: 1965

This light sits along the west side of the Hudson River marking the mud flats at Port Ewen. The octagonal tower sits atop a one and a half story keeper's dwelling. It has the distinction of being the only wooden lighthouse on the Hudson River. It has a wood frame and clapboard exterior. The light is no longer in use and the automated navigational aid is mounted on a pole outside the building.
