Dough, Co Cork, Ireland

Built: 1909

Automated: 1993

Although this light was originally built and established as a fog signal station in 1909, it was not lit until 1959. It sits on the most south-westerly point in Ireland just west of Barley Cove between Brow Head and Three Castle Head. A reinforced concrete bridge built around the turn of the century links the rock on which the light stands with the mainland.
