From your Windows desktop,

  • Push the Start button
  • Choose the Run option
  • type: cmd
  • Press the OK button

Once you get a Command Prompt window open, type the following:

   ipconfig /all

In the resultant listing, you'll see something called a Physical Address under a heading called Ethernet adapter. The address will look like this (but not exactly):

   02-00-0F-AB-CD-DE

This is your Ethernet or MAC address. You'll be asked for it when registering your machine with the Math IT group.

If you have problems getting this address, send email to math-req@umich.edu.
