Blogs (from “web log”) were originally online diaries, but now it sometimes seems like everyone uses software (such as our own [http://mblog.lib.umich.edu/ mBlog]) to easily create these simple web pages and there are blogs about every imaginable topic. New posts appear at the top of the page so they're easy to find (even easier with the RSS feed and an appropriate reader) and you can (optionally) tag your posts with keywords or categories, and let people add comments.

[edit] About Blogs

Blogs (from “web log”) were originally online diaries, but now it sometimes seems like everyone uses software (such as our own mBlog) to easily create these simple web pages and there are blogs about every imaginable topic. New posts appear at the top of the page so they're easy to find (even easier with the RSS feed and an appropriate reader) and you can (optionally) tag your posts with keywords or categories, and let people add comments.
