About Second Life

Second Life is an online virtual world that allows users to interact with other users via animated representations of users called "avatars". Accounts are free and accessing Second Life requires a that a program be downloaded. Second Life "residents" can find and chat with others, build objects and buildings and Second Life even has a thriving economy that uses "Linden Dollars."

Many libraries and library schools have begun to set up shop in Second Life to offer services and information to the residents. See the bottom section below for articles and resources about Second Life.
