  1. Encounter is an event and a learning experience.
  2. Each Encounter can have an optional Self Observation by the Student.
  3. Each Encounter can have zero or more Observations by Academy Members, Faculty Members or Mentor
  4. Each Encounter can have an optional Self Debrief by the Student
  5. Each Encounter can have zero or one Debrief by Academy Members, Faculty Members or Mentor
  6. Each Encounter can have an optional Clinical Writeup by the Student
  7. Each Clinical Writeup may optionally have a Self Evaluation
  8. Each Clinical Writeup has zero or more Evaluations by Academy Members, Faculty Members or Mentor
  9. Self and Academy Observations are captured using Page 1 of Micro-CEX Assessment Form
  10. Self and Academy Debriefs are captured using Page 2 of Micro-CEX Assessment Form
  11. Format for Clinical Writeup Self and Academy Evaluation form is yet to be determined
  12. All Observations, Debriefs and Clinical Writeup Evaluations go to the Student's Portfolio
  13. There is no explicit Feedback. Each assessment/evaluation is implicitly a feedback to the student from it's author
  14. Not all Artifacts (aka Work-product Artifacts) are captured by the system. E.g. verbal discussion. Artifacts could be really anything - video, audio etc.

  1. Encounter is generalized to one of several kinds of Event
  2. Each Event may optionally be associated with zero or more Artifacts
  3. Each Event or Artifact or both may be Assessed. This is represented in the model by creating a generalized concept of Assessable. Each Assessable has zero or more Assessment
  4. Each Assessment has an author - either the Student, Academy member, Faculty member or Mentor. If the author is student, then it is a Self Assessment
  5. Not all Events or Artifacts are Assessable
  6. Besides Encounter, other Events are Case Study .... (need a list here)
  7. Artifacts can be
    1. Observation
    2. Debrief
    3. Clinical Writeup
    4. Clinical Writeup Evaluation
    5. Others (need a list here)
  8. Each Assessment is included in the Student's Portfolio
  9. A Portfolio is a list of such Assessments (along with it's associated Artifacts)
