Agency Funding

Since its creation in November 2000, the Patient Safety Enhancement Program (PSEP) has sponsored or participated in several applications for extramural funding.  As of January 2011, faculty members affiliated with PSEP have been awarded over $13.7 million in PSEP-related grant funds.  In addition, Program faculty have published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and several book chapters on patient safety related topics. Several invited patient safety-related presentations have been made to diverse groups of physicians, nurses, infection control practitioners, and healthcare industry executives. Ongoing data collection, management, and analysis support a robust research agenda. The Office of the Executive Vice President of Medical Affairs, The University of Michigan Health System, provided the seed money for a Patient Safety Enhancement Program. Building on that early support, the following organizations have provided the resources necessary to turn a concept into a program. We deeply appreciate their commitment.
