o As a member in the family business, I had the responsibility to maintain the dining area in order and
made sure the cash register was balanced. From this work experience I gained an unique exposure of

to administrative events and networking opportunities with donors of the College. Through my working
experience I now pay more attention to details and accuracy when executing a job.

• “Leadership, Education and Development Summer Engineering Institute” (SEI) ▪ University of California ▪
Berkeley, CA ▪ July – Aug 2008 & 2009
o Attended this summer program for two consecutive years. This program was sponsored by GOOGLE
and consisted in introducing computer science to 30 high school students. The main project was related
to Alternative Energy, in which students worked with a non-profit organization- Engineers without
Borders. In this summer program I was for the first time exposed to computer science and big industries
in Silicon Valley (i.e. Intel, Apple, Sun Microsystems, EA Games, Dow Chemical).

o 60 students were selected from Puerto Rico to explore each type of Engineering through lectures and
hands on activities. I understood more clearly the differences and decided IOE as my intended major.
