This article is about how people would rather use a legal alternative if one is available at the correct price. This is particularly interesting in light of SOPA which gives unheard of powers to copy-right holders in order to stop online privacy. This study and the experiment done by Louie CK (google it, but basically people bought his video for $5 even though they could give it to their friend for free after paying for it and he made over $1,000,000 in 12 days). This article suggests that legislators do not understand the public feelings toward piracy and copy-right and perhaps media conglomerates do not need SOPA, but rather need to change their business model in order to stop SOPA.
