The U.S. military has created "smart ammunition" designed to stop enemies from being able to flee behind heavy cover such as large rocks or thick walls. A bullet has been created which after being fired will explode when it is in the vicinity of the enemy targeted. Few of these "smart" weapons have been created but have been used effectively resulting in the capturing of more military enemies and fewer U.S. military deaths.
