Subject: Family Life
Family value seems to be equally important culturally. My interviewee stated God being part of family also. Siblings, parents, and also grandparents live together in his house. Parent's are the head of the household and in his family particularly, men and women are are equally important within the family structure. Families participate together for religious and cultural activities. Children born outside of a marriage are not accepted by society.
Family structure in the US is very diverse. What interests me is how children born outside of a marriage are not accepted by society. There are many opinions regarding this topic in the US which varies from family to family. Having a relative, who was born outside of marriage, this question made me think of how my society's and my family's view of this individual would change if my culture was different.
Interviewee: Arab from Pakistan
