This article from the Times was interesting; it seems to reflect some of the ideas we shared on Thursday.
There is a lot of potential for new entrepreneurs in this frontier. Innovation is mandatory for schools with lack of funding and those with outdated text books, lab equipment, and technology.
Some of the comments:
"Education !=== Accreditation. I think that if you offer cheap easy certs, it's a race to the bottom, but hopefully that's not the goal of the new wave of education sites."
and
"I feel like the only way entrepreneurs can do good is to provide services for students and not for teachers. Stuff like khanacademy.com and teamtreehouse.com
Sell to the learner not to the teacher."
Why not sell to both?! Provide services to teachers to help them with more strategies and techniques that benefit all types of learners.
