Point Lookout Light

Built: 1830
Decommissioned: 1965
This light is located on the north side of the entrance to the Potomac River from the Chesapeake Bay. Originally constructed as a one-and-a-half-story wood and masonry building, it was rebuilt as the present two-story structure in 1928. The station bell tower, bell, and striking mechanism are now located at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
