McNeil Beach Light

Built: 1909
Decommissioned: 1965
This 10 meters (33 feet) tall peppershaker-style wooden lighthouse sits on a spit of land jutting out into the Great Bras d'Or Channel just south of the Seal Island Bridge. Abandoned in 1965, it had fallen into disrepair, but the Boularderie Island Historical Society began restoration in 2004 and completed it sometime after 2005.
