Sea Girt Light

Built: 1896
Decommissioned: 1945
This brick, two-story, L-shaped structure has its light tower attached at the intersection of the wings. Victorian in style, it stands among similarly designed residential homes along the Atlantic shore. Being almost midway between the Twin Lights of Navesink and the Barnegat Light, it filled a darkened gap between those two lights and maintained the mariner's continuity of signals. Today it is maintained by the Sea Girt Lighthouse Citizens Committee.
