Burlington Canal Main Light in 1995 - 23rd trip

Burlington, Ontario

Built: 1856

This light stands alongside a lift bridge that stretches over the Burlington Canal. The round, four-story stone tower replaced a wooden one built in 1838 which burned down after being ignited by sparks from a passing steamer entering Lake Ontario.
