Oksøy Light

Built: 1900
At 36 m (118 ft) this is one of the tallest lighthouses in Norway. Its first order lens sits 47 m (154 ft) above sea level and reaches 19 nautical miles out to sea. It marks the entrance to Kristiansand Harbor (along with the nearby Grønningen and Odderøya lights) on the southern coast of Norway. It is one of the few remaining manned lighthouses in Norway, having two keepers who rotate 3 weeks on and off duty. The present tower replaced the original tower built in 1832 and the base of the ruins can still be seen at the site.
