Old Field Point Light

Automated: 1933
Replacing the first lighthouse at the site which was built in 1823, this light has an octagonal wooden tower which sits on top of the two and a half story granite keeper's house. It originally housed a fourth-order Fresnel lens and its focal plane was 74 feet above sea level. It sits on Long Island's north shore overlooking Long Island Sound. It is still an active light, and the keeper's house is used for Old Field town offices and as a residence.
