Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii
Built: 1918
Automated: 1924
This 55 foot tall pyramidal/square tower is made of reinforced concrete and was build to replace the original 1899 tower. It has a focal plane of 147 feet and is located at the base of the now extinct Diamond Head Volcano, east of Waikiki Beach. Since 1945 the keeper's dwelling has served as the residence of the Coast Guard's 14th District commandant. This light was also one of the featured lighthouses on the 2006 Pacific Coast series of U.S. Postage stamps.
