Jupiter Inlet Light

Jupiter, Florida

Built: 1860

This 108-foot brick tower sits on a knoll overlooking the Loxahatchee River where it empties into the Atlantic Ocean. Its light shines 146 feet above sea level. It was natural brick until around 1910 when it was painted red. This automated beacon is still active today. [Update: The lighthouse was returned to its natural red brick color during the 1999 restoration.]
