From lighthouses
Summerside, Prince Edward Island
Built: Front light 1898; Rear light ?
Decommissioned: Front light 1961
This unique looking rear range light (top 2 photos) consists of a square wood tower that is 20 meters (66 feet) tall. It is located on a side street in downtown Summerside. Still an active light, there is a red vertical stripe on the seaward side.
The front range light (bottom photo) is a 11.5 meter (38 foot) square pyramidal wood tower that was relocated to private property and incorporated into a residence at MacCallum's Point. It was replaced by a skeletal tower.
