Piney Point Light

Automated: 1939
Decommissioned: 1964
This white, conical tower is 30 feet tall, made of brick, and is the oldest lighthouse on the Potomac River. It is located 14 miles up river from the Chesapeake Bay. At times, this was the summer vacation spot for various presidents and dignitaries.
