This 13.4 meters (44 feet) tall lighthouse was originally located on Fishing Point at the east side of the entrance to Puwash Harbor and the Pugwash River. Its "schoolhouse" design with a square tower rising from one end of the rectangular dwelling’s gabled-roof is uncommon in Canada, but was frequently used in the United States.
