Studying computational linguistics

There is one regularly-offered undergraduate course in computational linguistics (Ling 441), and two graduate courses (Ling 541, Ling 702). There are additional occasional offerings, and a number of related courses. For study beyond the formal course offerings, students should talk to a relevant faculty member about independent study.

• Ling 441: Computational Linguistics I (Abney). Every fall. Currently being offered (Fall 2010). Previously titled "Mathematics and Computation of Language."

• Ling 541: Introduction to Natural Language Processing. Usually offered once per year. Winter 2011 (Radev). Fall 2009 (Abney). Also listed as EECS 595, SI 561, SI 761.

• SI 560: Information Retrieval. Winter 2010 (Radev).

• SI 767: Advanced Natural Language Processing and Information Retrieval. Winter 2010 (Radev). Also listed as EECS 767.
