[edit] II. Managing Materials and Capturing Content

[edit] A. Ingesting Materials – Tool

1. dScribe/dScribe 2/Instructor adds materials through a single or bulk upload (through ctools / desktop import) (materials need version / timestamp to distinguish between updated (Instructor or dScribe) materials) (need categories for materials (resources, assignments, lectures, etc))

Description:

  1. Done The title of the table, "Resources," should be changed to "Materials."
  2. Add the ability to select all or none of the materials. Also add the functionality of selecting individual materials through the check boxes.
  3. The materials table should be modified to add the fields of File Type (MIME type), Resource Type (exists in the dB as Tags), and Date Modified. * The more I think about this the more it seems necessary to include a column that reminds people whether or not a material has items in an ASK form (instructor or dScribe 2). - Pieter 12:40, 29 April 2008 (EDT)

[edit] B. Capturing Content – Tool/Desktop

1. Priority: High dScribe/dScribe 2/Instructor downloads the source materials from the tool – given the option doing a single CO download or bulk download of all associated CO with the course. The course material can include multiple embedded CO's.

Description:

  1. The user should then be able to download any selected materials. When the user selects the download button, the selected material is downloaded to the user's local machine with the filename as the material name listed on the page. If the user selects multiple materials to download at once the files should be zipped and the filename should be the name of course.
  2. The user should then be able to remove any selected materials. When the user selects the remove button the selected material(s) should be removed from the list of available materials for the course, but it(they) should not be deleted from the database. * I'm not sure what to do with the orphan files. Perhaps we can give dScribe 2s access to delete files.??? - Pieter 13:09, 29 April 2008 (EDT)
