Copyright Concerns

- Some of the images contained in the course packs will be problematic, but they are almost certainly replaceable.
Privacy Concerns
- Possibly Major.
- Many of the course material are real, identifiable people telling their stories.
Level of Editing Needed
- Moderate
- Privacy concerns will need to be actively addressed.
- Some images will need to be replaced.
- Inserting license/disclaimer page in the documents and checking the citation/reading list for valid URLs and/or URLs to infringing content, not much.
Level of Publishing Needed
- Moderate
- The Professors have a very sophisticated teaching method, containing a lot of media. They want to ensure that they produce a high quality material that will possess a good deal of educational credibility.
- There is another year of class materials that will need to be prepared as well.
dScribe Method Recommendation
- dScribes should not be used. Staff should work with the Professors and the Scholarly Publishing Office.

Next Steps / Notes
- Bobby and Piet will meet and discuss a concrete slate of options to offer the professors.
- Bobby will be in contact with Maria Bonn to gain information about the publishing possibilities.
- An assistant on the program contacted Piet about getting video content onto U-M's YouTube channel. Piet contacted Brett Ashley and John Pariseau to figure out who is in charge of that channel now.
- Long term issues regarding acceptance of open materials by tenure committees keep coming up.
