dScribe meeting - Oct. 29, 2008

[edit] Preparation for the meeting

  1. Try to get as many of your content objects cleared (green) or at least "in process" (blue) in OERca. Review the dScribe Task List for guidance: https://open.umich.edu/wiki/index.php5/DScribe_Task_List (Main Page -> Fall 2008 dScribes -> dScribe Task List)
  2. Take note how much time you spend on each of these tasks using the journal template. (https://open.umich.edu/wiki/images/9/9e/DScribe_Journal_Template.xls) (Home -> Fall 2008 dScribes -> Journal). Fill in tab for the given week and email the updated spreadsheet to Garin.

[edit] What to bring to the meeting

  • Laptop
  • All of the course materials for weeks 1 - 8 uploaded and in progress or cleared status in OERca
  • Journal
  • Questions

[edit] Here is what we will be covering at the meeting

  1. General Questions (15 min)
  2. Status Update (5 min)
    1. Collect journals for this past week
    2. For those without journals, ask for a rough estimate of how much time they spent this past week
  3. Poll: What night next week works best for a 4-hour work session? (5 min)
  4. Work sessions: dScribe 2s will work individually with dScribes to on clearing course materials (60 min)
  5. Action Items:
    1. Clearing: Individual commitments for each dScribe
    2. See other Action Items below
