[edit] Part 3 - Moving Forward
Next steps (5 minutes)
1. Take handouts:
2. Showcase your dScribe and Open.Michigan stickers with pride. Some ideas: laptop, travel mug, backpack, etc.
3. Confirm with Open.Michigan which course/resource you're dScribing
4. Ask your instructor to license the materials. It's best to do this in person. We do have an email template here to follow-up with the faculty: see Dscribe Letter Template - First steps with faculty. Some related resources:
- Permission Form for U-M Faculty, Students and Staff (PDF, online)
- Faculty Specifications for dScribe participation (.doc, online)
4. Gather your materials. Remember they must be in editable format (e.g. .doc, .ppt)
6. Start analyzing content, recommending actions, and editing materials. You can use the Google form I demoed at http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dENJM2wxVjBHM0lWWGUwdUdORjNmRnc6MA. For continuing dScribes, you can continue to use OERca (https://open.umich.edu/oerca) if you desire.
7. Email me with any questions. Let me know when you'd like me to review your work.
8. I'll be in touch about the February workshop - it will be more hands-on and we'll spend most of the time looking at your materials.
Do not hesitate to contact Kathleen or the other members of the Open.Michigan team w/ any questions.
