Tried using this negative for first Leopard loadset. I did a default install of leopard onto a reformatted macbookpro. Radmind assiatnt got to %76 at /net and then I got operation timed out /net/broadcasthost Any ideas what to do next?

Cheers.

Sure - add /net to the negative!

Hello,

I too am having the same problem. I have tried adding /net to the negative transcript as well as /net/broadcasthost and /net/localhost. I have also tried removing /net from the transcript but nothing has worked. And in a desperate attempt to get it working I have also tried to delete the /net folder from my system but I get a 'resource is busy' message. Each time Radmind comes to the /net folder while making it's positive transcript it returns an 'operation timed out' message and then crashes. Interestingly if I try an rm -rf /net/broadcasthost I get an 'operation timed out' from the terminal as well. So far I have tried using Radmind on cherry installs of Leopard on a 17" white iMac, 20" Aluminum iMac, G5 tower and a powerbook G4. Every machine has given me the same error message.

It appears that I've just solved the mystery. In a lucky break I discovered that LDAP was enabled in Directory Services, though I had never enabled it (must be a default of the install for some inexplicable reason), and once I had disabled it the 'broadcasthost' folder disappeared in the /net folder. With this folder gone Radmind was able to go on its merry way. I imagine this will still cause problems if you need to have LDAP enabled, but at least this will be a workaround for the initial loadset creation.

Has anyone that is using LDAP found a resolution for this? I have added the same entries to the negative transcripts as Nancy and still continue to get errors regarding Broadcasthost. Any help would be appreciated.

We are having the same issue here in regards to the /net/broadcasthost folder.

Adding /net, /net/broadcasthost, /net/localhost does not fix the issue. It seems in fact that it is bypassing the negative.T file for these folders?

I tried to add an exception such as 'x /net/*' to the command.K file but just get 'bus errors'.

Tried disabling services such as LDAP via GUI interface and even NMBD & bonjour services using 'iservebox' app but still no go.

We would really enjoy getting radmind up and running. So we can test if it is going to be ok for our environment but this is a huge stumbling block if we can't even get a base image done.

Machine that is being 'imaged' per se is an IMAC 20' March 2009 machine. Running 10.5.7 and all latest patches. No other apps installed ( basically patched out of the box ).

if you need more info only to happy to provide.
