A wiki is a site editable by users creating or updating content using a simplified markup language.[1]
The wiki software was created by Ward Cunningham in 1994-1995.[2]
The most popular wiki site in the world is Wikipedia, which has been one of the top ten most popular websites in the world. Wikipedia is thirteen years old, having launched in January 2001.[3]
Wikis in the Classroom
The Wiki Writing: Collaborative Learning in the College Classroom, edited by Robert E. Cummings and Matt Barton, provides information on using wiki in college classes.[4] [5]
