Grafton, Wisconsin

Built: 1981

This 40 foot tall, white stucco-clad tower with its attached residence, sits atop a high bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, giving the light a focal plane of 163 feet. It marks the site of the once thriving 19th century Port Ulao, where lake steamers stopped to load wood for fuel. Built in 1981, it is the youngest Wisconsin lighthouse. It was certified as a Class II Private Aid to Navigation by the U.S. Coast Guard in 1990, and is still operational today.
