St. Peters Harbour Light
From lighthouses
St. Peters Harbour, Prince Edward Island
Built: 1881
This 8 meter (27 foot) square pyramidal wood tower marks the west side of the entrance to St. Peter's Bay, on the north shore of Prince Edward Island. The shoreline on the east side opposite the lighthouse is now part of Prince Edward Island National Park. The shifting sands over the years caused the harbour to silt up, resulting in its closing. The lighthouse now acts only as a coastal warning light.
