William Livingstone Memorial Light
From lighthouses
Belle Isle, Michigan
Built: 1929
Located on the northeast end of Belle Isle in the Detroit River, this light is unique in two ways. It is the only light in the nation constructed of marble, and it is one of only two lights in Michigan erected as memorials. William Livingstone was president of the Lake Carriers Association from 1902 to 1925.
