Yaquina Head Light

This conical brick masonry tower stands 93 feet tall with a focal plane 162 feet above sea level. Located at the entrance to Yaquina Bay along the Pacific coast, its tower is the tallest in Oregon. This light was known as the Cape Foulweather Light in its early days due, apparently, to the misplacing of names on early maps. Yaquina Head was actually labled Cape Foulweather at one time. The original first-order Fresnel lens is still operational in the tower today.
