[edit] Week 2 Summary Email
the OER Tool
- - The tool is stable at the moment. We have applied a number of fixes and it should no longer freeze up or NOT save your content.
- - Make sure that if you leave the Tool website open when you put your computer to sleep or don't use it for a few hours, log out completely, then log back in. If you don't, you run the risk of your work not being saved because your session has timed out.
- - We are working on implementing an email notification system. We'll hopefully have that working by the next meeting.
- - I've been compiling your comments on the tool and we'll be making adjustments over the next few weeks to incorporate your suggestions.
- - If you have any problems, email me or ocw-tool@ctools.umich.edu
Resources
- - As mentioned last week, we have a Flickr account [username: open.dscribe@yahoo.com pw: 1.silky!]. Use this to upload images you're stuck on (can't find a replacement, etc.). Also, Matt had a great idea of adding a set for Re-created COs so that if you needed something re-created you could first see if someone's already done it for you.
- - If you need to re-create graphs, the wiki has some information on a program we can get for you called GraphClick.
- - Collaborate: we really want you all to focus on working with one another and with me and Garin to get your content cleared. This means emailing the group more, putting images on Flickr, and showing up to meetings and work sessions.
Meeting Update
- - For those of you not at the work session Wednesday, we want to schedule a 30 minute session (face-to-face, except for Ghofrane) for Thursday or Friday of this week. We'll go over your sequence and content and make sure that things are moving along and answer any outstanding questions. We'll also ask a few "how's it going" questions. Please email me with a day and time you're available to do this.
- - We are reserving more time for work sessions throughout the week. We strongly encourage you to come in and do some of your work here at our office where you can connect with other dScribes and Garin & me.
- - Next week's meeting is at 11AM EDT on Wednesday.
Faculty Input
- - More and more faculty are signing forms and responding to students. The trouble faculty we are escalating to David Stern and Tamara Stein.
- - One note: Within the Tool, the option to send a CO or replacement CO to the faculty DOES NOT generate an email to the faculty. So, feel free to get objects into those ASK forms. When you are ready, we'll work with you to send the faculty an email asking them to respond to the questions in the ASK form.
