Based on SPSS 16 Site License Activation

Unlike version 16, SPSS18 now comes with a jar file capable of command line activation of SPSS, licenseactivator.jar.

SPSS stores its activation information in the following file:

/Applications/SPSSInc/PASWStatistics18/PASWStatistics18.0.app/Contents/bin/lservrc

First, put lservrc into a negative transcript:

f /Applications/SPSSInc/PASWStatistics18/PASWStatistics18.0.app/Contents/bin/lservrc	0644   501    80 1284671205       0 2jmj7l5rSw0yVb/vlWAYkK/YBwk=

To activate via the command line, just run:

cd /Applications/SPSSInc/PASWStatistics18/PASWStatistics18.0.app/Contents/bin/
java -jar /Applications/SPSSInc/PASWStatistics18/PASWStatistics18.0.app/Contents/bin/licenseactivator.jar CONSOLEMODE codes=HEXactivationCODE

With this you can license with a loginhook or postapply script or even via ARD if that's appropriate. See SPSS 16 Site License Activation for an example script.
