  • Disclaimer
  • ToU
  • "how to use" our material we make available

[edit] General

Keep them as separate documents Make the ToU not buried/no fine print/plain english Provide our educational materials for public consumption so they have a better idea of how we made our own decision.

[edit] Disclaimer Specific

Continued discussion of this topic will occur at the Disclaimer Discussion page.

Main purpose: We're not responsible. This is not medical advice. Will change only slightly. Needs to still mention U.S. copyright law

[edit] ToU Specific

Continued discussion of this topic will occur at the ToU Discussion page.

Provide clear explanation of our use of particular objects

  • ie: clearly marking in the material (eg: powerpoint slide) our determination for each image (openly licensed or public domain)

Use the Citation Policy document to support the ToU

  • "Source:" is overloaded (means public domain due to term limit, public domain due to ineligible for protection, or fair use)
    • We need to break this down.
  • Wikimedia is an example of an organization explicityly stating whether something is used under no copyright/unprotectable reasons.

[edit] Explanation

What is the content you're viewing. Your right to use it is described in the terms of use. Might belong on the welcome to the site.

Draft

  • Garin, Greg, and Bobby will speak at Susan's Advanced Copyright class this Friday

[edit] Next Meeting (draft agenda)

  • We will review both the Disclaimer and ToS at the same time.
