[edit] Star icon

The star icon can be clicked to turn it bright yellow. This feature has no function other than letting you mark surveys in a special way. If you have many surveys but don’t utilize the folder system, this method will allow you to locate surveys easily.

[edit] Active survey

Once a survey has been activated, it will be marked with the green checkmark. However, it can still be deactivated without being deleted. Simply click on the green checkmark and confirm in the popup window that you do want to close the survey. It can be reactivated again using the same methods for initial activation. The link will remain the same.

[edit] Responses

The number of attempted responses is shown. This value includes complete AND incomplete responses.

[edit] Edit

Will take you to the editing features in the Quick Survey Builder

[edit] Results

View, edit, delete, and download results from the current survey

[edit] Send

Activate and choose a distribution method for your survey

[edit] View

Preview the survey as it will appear to respondents. To move quickly through the survey, click “Ignore Validation”. You will not have to answer questions to advance.

[edit] Collaborate

This is great for when you are doing collaborative work with other people at UMICH and would like everyone to have access to a survey. You may also collaborate with anyone outside the university using their email address. They will be emailed to create a free account on Qualtrics.

  1. In order to share a survey, you will need to know your collaborators’ name. Search for your collaborator (users within your organization will auto-populate). Alternatively, the “Address Book” will list everyone in your organization that has an account. For those outside the organization, use their email address. This will email the collaborator a unique code for collaboration - they will then need to use this code when they "Accept a Shared Survey" in My Surveys in their own account.
  2. Once you have selected the user, click “Add.”
  3. A list of permissions will appear to the right. This is where you choose what editing capabilities this person will have.

[edit] Copy

Copy the survey to another account or library or make a copy of the survey in your own account. This is very useful when you are developing several different versions of a survey or trying to decide on which survey design to use.

[edit] Delete

Delete the entire survey from your account. It will also be deleted from the accounts of people sharing it.

[edit] Remove

(Only available for shared surveys that are owned by another user) Remove your access to the shared survey. It will remain unchanged in the account of the survey owner.
